EmiliO-Art

EmiliO is the artistic identity of a contemporary sculptor and artisan based in Cannes, on the French Riviera. Describing his approach as French Neo-Tribalist, EmiliO creates original, one-of-a-kind sculptures that explore the character and potential of raw materials. His work focuses on clay, particularly terracotta, and also features steel. Inspired by historic masters and organic forms in nature, he aims to express emotion, movement and spirit rather than reproduce reality.

Each sculpture begins with a sketch, an idea or an emotion, which guides the preparation and shaping of the material. EmiliO uses traditional modelling techniques to develop each form, then finishes the work through firing and patination, giving it its final texture and individual character.
