Emmabodafestivalen is a Swedish music festival created by the nonprofit association Vinterbadarna. Its first event, held in 1988, was a one-day concert featuring a single artist. Over time, it grew into a three-day festival with around 50 artists performing across three stages. The festival became known for its energetic music and community-led spirit.
Following the closure of the original festival in Sweden, the organisers announced EmmabodaRavet – København Edition, a new project intended to bring the Emmaboda experience to Copenhagen. The proposed event centres on a warehouse venue with a bunker-style atmosphere and promises live music, surprises and a rave-inspired programme. Organisers also describe street food and nearby swimming spots as part of the experience. Unlike the established camping festival, the Copenhagen edition was presented as a project in development, with visitors initially expected to arrange their own accommodation. Emmabodafestivalen’s activities therefore span festival production and the development of a new music event inspired by its history.
