Emmecon Oy is a Finland-based specialist in designing microprocessor-based, application-specific measuring and control systems for demanding environments. The company develops embedded solutions for customers and partners in international research, defence and consumer electronics. Its approach brings electronics, software and mechanical design together in-house, allowing functions to be assigned to hardware or software according to what works most effectively.

Emmecon’s main focus is Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) and Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). Its product range includes EMM-SHM, EMM-HUMS and EMM-COLL, covering applications from military aircraft to forest cranes. The systems are designed for platforms with a 12–36V power supply and a communication channel for data exchange. Rather than simply streaming raw data, Emmecon’s devices include analysis capabilities. They can measure structural strain using resistive strain gauges, as well as acceleration, angular velocity, pressure, temperature and voltage, using built-in or externally connected sensors.

The company’s experience includes European Defence Agency AHMOS projects and measurement and monitoring work involving Finnish Air Force F-18 aircraft.
