EMMETT Technique is a body therapy brand centered on a gentle, light-touch approach to muscle release, developed by Ross Emmett. Drawing on his background in therapeutic massage, Bowen Therapy, work with animals and Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Emmett developed the technique over more than 35 years. The method is described as safe, simple to apply and based on the body’s response to light touch. It is used to help ease pain and discomfort, support movement and improve quality of life for both people and animals.
The technique can be practised on its own or integrated with approaches such as massage, chiropractic, physiotherapy and occupational therapy. EMMETT offers human courses and workshops, alongside animal-focused training for practitioners working with dogs, horses and other animals. Its international network includes instructors, tutors and practitioners, with courses available across many countries. The website also provides demonstration videos, articles, event information, practitioner and instructor directories, and course inquiry resources.
