EMODnet Bathymetry is a key service provided by the European Marine Observation and Data Network, focusing on bathymetric data and resources related to European sea regions. The primary offering is the harmonised Digital Terrain Model (DTM), a regularly updated and high-resolution dataset sourced from a wide variety of organizations, including governmental and research entities. This DTM serves as a foundational tool for multiple marine applications, from hydrodynamic modeling to planning offshore wind farms and enhancing public safety by forecasting storm surges.

In addition to the flagship DTM, EMODnet Bathymetry provides a suite of products, including best-estimate European digital coastlines and inventory of official coastlines. Their services are accessible through a user-friendly Mapviewer and support features for data discovery and downloading, ensuring that data is easily available for scientific research, sustainable ocean governance, and blue economy activities. By fostering collaboration among over 50 data providers, EMODnet Bathymetry continually enhances the quality and coverage of its bathymetric products, thereby benefiting marine science and industry alike.
