The Woodruff Health Sciences Center is Emory University’s health sciences community, based in Atlanta, Georgia. It brings together education, research, and patient care to help prevent and treat disease, prepare future health care practitioners, and advance high-quality clinical care. Inspired by benefactor Robert W. Woodruff, the center emphasizes service to communities and aims to improve health through outreach, discovery, and education.

Its work spans Emory’s School of Medicine, School of Nursing, and School of Public Health, alongside affiliated organizations and research centers. These include Winship Cancer Institute, Emory National Primate Research Center, Emory Global Diabetes Research Center, and Emory Global Health Institute. The center also supports interprofessional education, research partnerships, clinical trials, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Through Emory Healthcare and its clinical teams, the organization provides patient care, while researchers and clinicians address health challenges in Georgia and beyond. Its initiatives include efforts to improve care for rural Georgians and the use of robotic technology in knee replacement surgery.
