About CONABIO
EncicloVida is a platform created by the National Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity (CONABIO) that serves as a comprehensive resource for information on the species living in Mexico. With over 114,000 validated or accepted species and their synonyms, the platform offers a wealth of ecological data and various search tools. Users can explore the entire taxonomic classification, search for species by states, municipalities, or protected natural areas, and even generate and download their own species guides.
Additionally, EncicloVida provides information on species grouped by their use, species at risk, distribution types, invasive species, and responsible marine consumption through a user-friendly interface. The platform also integrates data from scientific collections, biodiversity assessments, and citizen science projects. Thanks to the collaboration of Mexican researchers from numerous academic and financial institutions over the years, EncicloVida has become an essential tool for understanding and conserving Mexico's rich biodiversity
