Camp Encore/Coda is a summer music camp in Sweden, Maine, offering young musicians a supportive, non-competitive place to develop their skills, make friends, and enjoy the outdoors. Its close-knit community of around 100 campers and 2-to-1 staff ratio helps provide personalized care and attention. Campers can follow schedules tailored to their experience and goals, choosing to focus on one area or explore a variety of musical styles and activities.
Musical programs include orchestral and wind ensembles, chamber music, piano, guitar and bass, jazz, rock, vocal music, choral work, composition, and musical theater. Instruction and activities may include ensembles, private lessons, improvisation, music theory and history, conducting, acting, dance, and performance. The camp stages two musical productions each session and offers concerts and workshops.
Beyond music, campers can take part in sports, waterfront activities, and evening programs. Camp Encore/Coda also provides a day camp, a Counselor-in-Training program, and scholarships. Its approach combines focused musical learning with recreation, encouraging each camper to grow at their own pace and shape a summer experience around their interests.
