Encounter Studios

Encounter Studios is a character and performance animation studio that develops characters from initial concept through to final render. Working across commercials, film and digital content, the studio designs, models, rigs and animates characters intended to move and feel authentic. Its services also include storyboards and live-action visual effects, supported by contemporary tools and production techniques.

The studio’s projects include Tim and Bash, featuring Bash, a baby dragon created with a blend of realism and charm. The work uses fur dynamics and visual effects, including techniques for combining computer-generated characters with filmed footage. Encounter Studios is also developing God Made Crab, an animated series of quirky characters and slapstick humour, with a signed distribution agreement with Angel Studios.

The team brings experience in animation and visual effects production. Head of Animation Daniel Crook has worked with studios including Framestore, Double Negative and Skydance Animation. Head of VFX Andrew Bashforth has expertise in 3D production, rigging, fur dynamics and rendering.
