Encyklopedia Solidarności serves as the most extensive source of knowledge about the Polish anti-communist opposition from 1976 to 1989. This comprehensive project is spearheaded by the National Memory Institute, aiming to document the history of various opposition movements during the People’s Republic of Poland. Initiated in the early 2000s by the Generation Association in Katowice, the project has evolved to include biographical entries and thematic articles that highlight significant figures and events related to the Solidarity movement.

The encyclopedia covers a wide range of topics, reflecting the diverse structures and activities of the opposition during this critical period in Polish history. It features biographies of key activists, particularly those associated with the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union “Solidarity,” and addresses numerous issues pertinent to the era.
