About Energia Para Todos
Energia Para Todos is a brand and program initiated by the government of Mozambique, implemented by Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) and the National Energy Fund (FUNAE). The program aims to provide electricity access to all Mozambicans by 2030, as defined in the National Electrification Strategy (ENE) approved by the Council of Ministers in October 2018. It supports the expansion of energy access to peri-urban and rural areas throughout the country, leveraging and expanding the existing national electrical grid and implementing solar-powered mini-grids in areas not covered by the national grid.
The program has already achieved significant milestones, including the construction of gas-fired power plants and the connection of numerous administrative posts to the national grid. The connection fee is free for all domestic customers.
