About Energy Systems of the Future
ESYS, short for “Energiesysteme der Zukunft,” is a pioneering initiative established by acatech, the National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, and the Union of German Academies of Sciences. Launched in April 2013 and funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, ESYS engages over 160 experts in addressing critical questions surrounding the energy transition in Germany. With a focus on sustainable, affordable, and reliable energy supply, ESYS delivers evidence-based advice to policymakers and society.
