Familieforbundet

The Unification Movement is an umbrella name for diverse movements and projects started by or inspired by Sun Myung Moon, sometimes with his wife, Hak-ja Han, as co-founder. Founded by Moon in Seoul, South Korea, in 1954, the movement is guided by the Unification Principles and seeks a peaceful, free, united world in which people can live with security, love and happiness. Its approach is to bring together people and organizations working toward shared ideals, rather than to establish a new religion.

The movement engages with religious communities, encouraging leaders to overcome barriers between faiths, races, cultures and nations. Its activities also extend to the United Nations, academia and media, as well as education, moral and ethical values training, humanitarian projects, arts, sports and hospitals. In Norway, its first representative arrived in 1969.

The organization was initially known as the Unification Family, and later Norwegian initiatives included the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification. Its website offers teachings, publications, videos, events and information about its beliefs and history
