About ENTERPRISE Zambia Challenge Fund
ENTERPRISE Zambia Challenge Fund is a five-year agribusiness support initiative co-presented by Self Help Africa and Imani Development. With a substantial investment of €26 million in the sector, this fund aims to contribute to increased opportunities for smallholder farmers in Zambia's agriculture, agroforestry, and aquaculture value chains. Aligned with the EU's Farm to Fork Strategy and Biodiversity Strategy 2030, the fund focuses on improving the sustainability of agro-food systems by supporting business investments.
Enterprise Zambia Challenge Fund promotes the transition to greener and more sustainable agri-food systems, addresses the challenges posed by COVID-19, and supports gender and youth-focused opportunities. The fund consists of a financial support component managed by Self Help Africa and Imani Development, along with a Grant/Loan component delivered through the African Investment Platform blending scheme. By providing grants, technical advisory services, and improved access to financial services, this initiative aims to stimulate investment, enhance smallholder farmers' integration into value chains, and create employment opportunities, particularly for women and youth
