Enviro Power Technologies develops heating equipment designed to combine building heat, electricity generation and backup power. Its flagship product, the SmartWatt Boiler, is a drop-in replacement for conventional heating and hot water boilers, intended for residential and commercial buildings. The system captures heat that would otherwise be lost and uses it to generate onsite electricity while providing heat and hot water.
The SmartWatt Boiler incorporates a patented dual-condensing combustion chamber and a closed-loop radial micro-steam turbine. Enviro Power reports heating efficiency of nearly 98 percent on an HHV basis and electricity generation of up to 6 kW while the boiler is producing heat. An integrated electric generator is also designed to provide backup power during outages.
Enviro Power’s mission is to help decarbonize buildings and support greater energy independence for property owners. The company says its boilers are already used in apartment buildings, college dormitories and other commercial properties, and are manufactured in the United States.
