I2N

Institut national du nautisme (I2N) is a French national public institution serving the sailing and wider nautical community in France and internationally. Formerly known as ENVSN, it operates under the joint oversight of the ministries responsible for Sport and the Sea. Its work brings together professional training, sporting performance, research and expertise, with environmental considerations across nautical activities.

I2N offers professional qualifications for careers in sport and recreation, including BPJEPS courses in surfing, sailing and kite-powered board sports, and DEJEPS programmes in sailing and white-water canoeing and kayaking. It also supports federations and athletes preparing for major national and international competitions, and contributes to innovation and expertise in water sports.

The institute provides specialist facilities, sports installations, accommodation and catering for training courses, sporting stays and events. Its venue can also host school visits, seminars, conferences and meetings. Through its nautical-base platform, I2N helps facility owners, local authorities, design professionals and managers plan renovations, modernisation or reconstruction, offering practical examples, resource materials and guidance on funding opportunities.
