E.P. Mahar & Son Funeral Home is a family-serving funeral provider based in Bennington, Vermont, supporting families in Southern Vermont and nearby communities. Serving the area since 1935, the home emphasizes compassionate, professional care and personal attention during times of loss. Its services include traditional funerals, burial arrangements, cremation, personalized memorials, and tributes honoring veterans. The funeral home owns and operates an on-site crematory, allowing its team to maintain care of loved ones throughout the cremation process rather than relying on a third-party provider.

Families can also arrange services in advance, with staff available to explain options and help document personal wishes. Veteran services include assistance with military honors and coordination of VA benefits. Additional support includes grief resources and events, guidance for families navigating a death, memorial print materials, obituary notices, and help ordering flowers through local florists. E.P. Mahar & Son’s website provides practical information about services, planning, payments, and current obituaries, as well as contact details for immediate assistance.
