About Equally Well
Equally Well is a dynamic movement dedicated to addressing the physical health inequities faced by individuals with lived experiences of mental health and addiction issues in New Zealand. This collaborative initiative involves a diverse range of people and organizations working together to elevate the unmet health needs of this community. Through various resources, including evidence reviews, webinars, and assessment tools, Equally Well empowers champions to advocate for better physical health opportunities.
The movement actively promotes initiatives such as managing weight gain related to antipsychotic medication, supporting Smokefree legislation, and providing funded flu vaccinations for individuals with mental health challenges. Equally Well also offers engaging platforms for participation, including informal lunchtime meet-ups for sharing best practices and developing action hubs. By focusing on health equity and sharing stories from lived experiences, Equally Well aims to raise awareness and foster community connections, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to achieve physical wellbeing.
