About Equal Opportunity Commission of Trinidad and Tobago
The Equal Opportunity Commission (EOC) of Trinidad and Tobago | Chaguanas is dedicated to promoting equality and eliminating discrimination in all aspects of society. Established under the Equal Opportunity Act 2000, the EOC was appointed in 2008 with a mission to protect citizens from discrimination and ensure fair treatment for all. The EOC safeguards citizen rights by addressing discrimination in employment, education, the provision of goods and services, and accommodation.
Their vision is to create a society where everyone, regardless of their racial, ethnic, religious, marital, gender, geographical, or physical background, is treated equally. Committed to their mandate, the EOC offers advice and guidance, simplifies laws related to discrimination, and provides a comprehensive complaints process. Citizens can lodge complaints if they have experienced offensive behavior or discriminatory treatment.
The EOC also offers resources, publications, and a calendar of events to educate the public on their rights. At the EOC, a dedicated team works tirelessly to make Trinidad and Tobago a more inclusive and equitable nation. Reach out to them for support and assistance in promoting equal opportunities and protecting against discrimination
