Equal People Mencap is a registered charity in Kensington and Chelsea, London, established by parents around 30 years ago to help adults with learning disabilities enjoy greater choice and independence. Its approach is centred on turning individuals’ dreams into action at their own pace, with support shaped around their needs and aspirations.
The charity offers supported training, groups, activities and social opportunities throughout the week. These take place at its Resource Centre in Ladbroke Grove and in the wider community. Its weekday drop-in runs Monday to Friday, from 10am to 4pm, and costs £3, including tea and coffee.
Equal People Mencap also provides floating support, including housing support, personal care support and community care support. People interested in accessing these services can enquire about referrals. The organisation welcomes support through one-off or monthly donations, which help sustain its work. Equal People Mencap is based at 73 St Charles Square, London, W10 6EJ, and is registered as charity number 298609.
