EquiGens

EquiGens was a small-scale residential care facility for young people, set in a natural environment and surrounded by animals. Its approach placed each young person at the centre while also recognising the importance of their family and wider support system. The facility offered a distinctive living setting, with a focus on providing a personal, close-knit environment rather than a large institution. Its website also shared information about the premises, a photo gallery, contact details for a confidential adviser, and the complaints procedure.

After more than ten years of operation, EquiGens decided to close. The exit process with the SDF began on 1 April 2026, with the intention of remaining open until 1 October to support a careful transition for the young people in its care. However, the last young person left on 19 July 2026, and the facility officially closed the following day. The future use of the property had not yet been decided; it was expected to be sold or rented out.
