Equine Hoof Care

Bob Childs provides natural hoof care and rehabilitation for horses in Basel-Landschaft and nearby cantons, including Basel, Aargau and Solothurn. An ESA/AHA/PHCP-certified hoof care specialist, he uses natural trimming to support anatomically sound hoof growth and help horses live and work without horseshoes. His holistic approach considers each horse’s nutrition, movement and living conditions, with the aim of promoting long-term health and an active life.

Services include routine barefoot trimming, treatment for hoof conditions, rehabilitation, glue-on and plastic horseshoes, hoof boot sales and fitting, nutritional advice and mineral balancing. Bob also offers health checks and lameness and neurological examinations, supported by tools such as thermal imaging, pH testing, fecal worm testing and X-ray evaluation. His work draws on specialist training in hoof pathology, rehabilitation and nutrition, alongside practical experience with horses, including endurance and rehabilitation cases. He is licensed to provide commercial equine hoof care in Switzerland and offers internships for aspiring hoof care practitioners.
