Equine Vet Services is a locally owned and operated mobile veterinary practice serving Townsville and surrounding areas in Queensland. Founded by Dr Sarah Townsend in April 2020, the business provides veterinary care for horses, cattle, dogs and cats, with a particular focus on preventative care and keeping animals healthy. Dr Sarah has extensive experience in equine veterinary medicine and a longstanding connection with horses. She has a special interest in equine dentistry and has undertaken additional courses and training, offering routine and advanced dental services using modern techniques, including powerfloat dentistry.
Services include equine consultations and vaccinations, dental care, portable X-rays and ultrasound, surgical procedures, small-animal consultations and vaccinations, cattle herd health, and emergency and after-hours care for existing clients. The mobile service aims to deliver thorough, compassionate care with clear communication and follow-up. Horse owners can receive dental charts, information brochures, follow-up emails, and optional automatic reminders for preventative care such as worming, vaccinations and dentistry.
