Equipass

Equipass is a mobile-first digital passport solution designed to support equine identification, welfare, biosecurity, and traceability worldwide. Developed by the FEI in close collaboration with the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), it brings together trusted horse information in a secure, accessible format for owners, veterinarians, caretakers, and officials. The app centralises identification details such as FEI and UELN numbers, anatomical diagrams, and photographs, with integrated microchip reading to help verify a horse’s identity.

It also organizes health records, including vaccinations, treatments, test results, and clinical observations, supporting more consistent health monitoring. For movement management, users can record home stables, travel documents, itineraries, and location histories. These tools help make essential information easier to access, reduce administrative complexity, support biosecurity protocols, and facilitate compliance with international frameworks.

Equipass complements existing physical passport requirements rather than replacing them. Available through the iOS App Store and Google Play, the service is designed to make reliable equine records more practical for horses on the move and the people responsible for their care
