Its goal is to bring transport requests and available journeys together in one place, supporting travel within the Netherlands and across borders. Owners will be able to search for planned international trips with space available or submit a request for national or international transport. They can then review suitable options, compare providers and choose the service that best fits their horse and journey.

For transport professionals, EquiPorta is intended to provide access to new customer requests and a way to make spare capacity on scheduled routes visible to horse owners. The planned process includes finding or requesting transport, reviewing options, selecting a provider and completing payment through a secure payment environment. Owners will also be able to keep journey information together on the platform. A price indicator is planned to offer an initial estimate based on the departure point, destination and number of horses.
