Equus Charities of the Lowcountry

Equus Charities of the Lowcountry is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based at the historic Rose Hill Equestrian Center in Bluffton, South Carolina. Its mission is to enrich the community through polo, bringing residents and visitors together for equestrian events that support local causes. The organization’s flagship event, the Rose Hill Charity Polo Match, continues a Lowcountry tradition that began on Hilton Head Island in 1974 and moved to Rose Hill Plantation in 1982.

Each match partners with a different local organization, directing funds and attention toward community needs. The October 25, 2026 match will benefit the Lowcountry Autism Foundation and feature polo, local food vendors, and VIP hospitality. Equus Charities offers general admission tickets, VIP and tent options, and sponsorship packages at several levels, with benefits such as tickets, reserved tents, parking, and event recognition.

It also plans a hands-on polo clinic for riders, with details to be announced. Through its events and partnerships, the organization celebrates the region’s polo heritage while supporting charitable work across the Lowcountry
