Eracle Onlus

Eracle ODV is a volunteer association based in Reggio Calabria, Italy, dedicated to supporting premature babies and newborns who require hospital care, as well as their families. It was founded by parents whose children had been treated in the Neonatology and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the city’s Ospedali Riuniti. Established in 2011 with the encouragement of hospital doctors and nurses, the association draws inspiration from Italy’s Charter of the Rights of the Preterm Child.

Eracle works to raise awareness of prematurity, promote the rights and wellbeing of vulnerable newborns, and help families navigate the challenges of hospitalization. Its initiatives include family information and support, awareness events, educational resources about prematurity and neonatal services, and the Casa di Eracle, accommodation created to welcome parents of children receiving care in the neonatal department. The association also shares personal stories, news, and information about its activities. Supporters can contribute by joining as annual members, making donations by bank transfer or PayPal, or donating through Italy’s 5×1000 tax allocation.
