ERAS LatAm is the Latin American chapter of the ERAS Society, a non-profit scientific society dedicated to achieving excellence in perioperative processes for optimal patient recovery. With a focus on compiling rigorous scientific evidence, ERAS Society develops guidelines and protocols (ERAS protocols) and offers a global audit network known as EIAS (ERAS Interactive Audit System) to optimize resources, compare outcomes, and generate knowledge. ERAS LatAm's mission is to facilitate the complete implementation of an ERAS program in South American and Caribbean countries.

Additionally, they aim to promote member training and establish a network for knowledge creation. By involving patients and their families as part of a highly trained healthcare team, the application of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocol reduces complications and hospital stay time. The ultimate goal is to help patients resume their normal activities as quickly as possible.

For training and education, ERAS LatAm offers the ERAS Implementation Program (EIP) through a virtual campus developed by ENCARE. Alongside this, the Dr. Adrián Alvarez team from ERAS LatAm also provides an educational platform called Campus ERAS Latam.
