ShinEraTensei is a community-developed, noncommercial fan project inspired by the Digital Devil Story, Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, and other participating works. It is a text-based, free-scenario RPG combined with a training simulation, built to run on the era and Emuera systems. Players take the role of a member of a secret organization and can form a party from more than 1,400 characters, develop their team and relationships, explore dungeons, complete missions, and pursue numerous endings.

The game supports varied play styles, from battling alongside demons to using its adult training and management systems to earn money in the underworld. The accompanying wiki provides extensive gameplay guidance, including installation instructions, manuals, scenario and dungeon lists, character and demon data, skills, items, equipment, and advice on party building and progression. It also offers development resources for users who want to modify or extend the game with a text editor, alongside community links, downloads, and player-created content.

The project includes explicit adult material and is intended for adults; its creators prohibit commercial use
