I Erfurter Silvesterlauf

Erfurter Silvesterlauf is an annual running and walking event organized by FSV Thuringia e.V. in Erfurt, Germany. For more than 53 years, it has brought together runners, walkers, families, children, competitive athletes, and recreational participants on the final day of the year. With more than 2,000 participants, the event is described as Thuringia’s largest New Year’s Eve run.

The programme offers several distances and formats, including a 12 km walk, 2 km and 4 km events, a 10 km run, and short Bambini races for children aged three to six. Participants can choose timed races, team competitions, or untimed activities, with options and fees for young people and participants with disabilities. A virtual entry is also available for people unable to attend in person: entrants complete their distance remotely and submit proof to receive a finisher medal.

The event starts and finishes at Hartwig-Gauder-Halle by Erfurt’s Steigerwald Stadium. The organizer’s website provides registration, participant information, route details, results, event updates, and a shop featuring branded running apparel and accessories.
