Erguete Baixo Miño

Asociación Érguete Baixo Miño is a nonprofit, public-benefit organization serving A Guarda, O Rosal, Tomiño and Oia in Galicia’s Baixo Miño region. Founded in the early 1990s in response to the effects of drug use on local families, it has grown into a professional and volunteer team focused on preventing addictive behaviors, promoting health education and supporting social inclusion. Its free programs are tailored to the needs of the local community and address substance use as well as risks linked to gambling and digital technology.

The association works with schools, families, young people, women and the wider community to encourage healthy habits and build skills that help prevent risky behaviors. It also provides information, guidance and support to people experiencing addiction and their families, including institutional mediation, help with basic needs and harm-reduction programs. For people facing social or employment exclusion, it offers training and personalized pathways that support basic literacy, employability and independence.
