Erich Mühsam

The Erich-Mühsam-Gesellschaft e. V. is a German association dedicated to preserving and sharing the life and work of Erich Mühsam, the anarchist writer, publicist and antimilitarist born in Berlin in 1878.

Founded in Lübeck on 6 April 1989, the 111th anniversary of Mühsam’s birth, the society aims to inform the public about the author and make his works accessible to interested readers. Its website introduces Mühsam’s biography and literary work, featuring information about his writings, poems and texts, as well as an exhibition about his life. The association also provides publications and information about its structure, including its board, membership and statutes.

Its activities extend to events and conferences, and the site lists the Erich Mühsam Prize and maintains an archive. Visitors can follow current news, explore related links and subscribe to the society’s newsletter. Through these resources and activities, the organization supports public engagement with Mühsam’s writing and legacy
