Es.Agicalo

Esagicalo is the School Association of Giants and Big-Headed Figures of Logroño, a cultural organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the city’s festive traditions and history. Its figures are among the most recognizable parts of Logroño’s celebrations, attracting audiences of all ages, especially children. The association brings historical and popular characters to life through its collection of Riojan giants, including Serafín and Nieves, Mateo Sagasta, the Peñistas, Paco and Rosi, the Mayor and Mayoress, General Espartero, the Duchess of Victoria, and the Marquis of Ensenada.

Esagicalo welcomes people interested in carrying a giant or big-headed figure. Members offer guidance and training, and invite newcomers to join the association on its outings throughout the year. The group takes part in annual events such as the Three Kings Parade, San Bernabé, and San Mateo, helping audiences enjoy the festivities while celebrating Logroño’s heritage. Its activities also include the show “The Giants of Our History.” Based in Logroño, Esagicalo provides information about its figures, performances, membership, and activities through its website and contact channels.
