About ESAWAS Regulators Association
ESAWAS, the Eastern and Southern Africa Water and Sanitation (ESAWAS) Regulators Association, was established in 2007 as a gathering of regional WSS regulators. This association operates under a ratified Constitution and convenes annually to discuss mutual interests. ESAWAS aims to promote regional cooperation and coordination on regulatory issues by offering capacity building, information sharing, and fostering regional regulatory cooperation.
The association's key functions include promoting quality regulation, facilitating information exchange, and advocating for best practices in WSS regulation. With a vision to be a leading advocate for effective water supply and sanitation regulation in Africa, ESAWAS collaborates with various partners and has twelve member organizations. The association is governed by an Executive Committee and operates through a Secretariat housed by the National Water Supply and Sanitation Council of Zambia.
Joining forces with strategic partners, ESAWAS works towards improving water supply and sanitation services in the region and beyond
