Esbjerg Selvforsvar

Esbjerg Selvforsvar is a self-defence training provider in Esbjerg, Denmark, offering practical instruction for people seeking skills relevant to real-world confrontations. Its programme is based on Urban Combatives, adapted for civilian self-defence, and combines personal-safety awareness with a focused set of physical techniques designed to be usable under stress.

Training prioritises avoiding danger, recognising potential threats, de-escalating situations and escaping whenever possible. When force is necessary, students practise responding proportionately and effectively, with attention to Danish laws on self-defence and the protection of others. Sessions also address the effects of fear, confusion and adrenaline through progressively challenging role-play and scenario training. Practice can include confined spaces and situations involving multiple attackers or weapons, with realism balanced by safety.

Classes take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Training is led by Ronnie Hansen, whose background includes Krav Maga and whose current approach draws on Urban Combatives principles. Esbjerg Selvforsvar invites prospective students to book a free trial session or contact the organisation for more information.
