Valormed Portugal

Valormed’s Escolas de Valor is an educational initiative run by Sociedade Gestora de Resíduos de Embalagens e Medicamentos, Lda., focused on environmental awareness and responsible disposal of medicines and their packaging. The programme encourages schools, students and families to return medicines and packaging that are unused or past their expiry date to pharmacies or parapharmacies, rather than placing them in the wrong waste stream. This helps reduce the risk of soil and water contamination and connects everyday choices with the health of the planet.

Through school activities and educational resources, Escolas de Valor invites young people to learn about environmental issues and take part in positive change. Its initiatives include Turma dos Econautas, an environment-themed classroom mission, and the interactive virtual booklet “Nação Selvagem.” The latter introduces students to animals and plants found in Portugal, with digital collectible cards covering species from land, water and air. By combining practical disposal guidance with engaging learning experiences, Valormed’s programme supports schools in building environmental knowledge and encouraging responsible habits for the future.
