East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service is the fire and rescue organisation serving communities across East Sussex. Its work combines emergency response with prevention, safety education and partnership activity to help protect people, homes and businesses. The service provides practical guidance for home fire safety, including an online home fire safety check, home safety visits, and advice and equipment for families with children.

It also supports care providers through a fire safety scheme. For businesses, the service offers information on fire safety law, fire risk assessments, sharing risk information, sprinklers and automatic fire suppression systems, alongside a free introductory business safety course and a Primary Authority Scheme. Its public safety resources cover road safety, water safety and drowning prevention, wildfires and fires in the open.

The organisation engages with children and young people, works with community groups and publishes information about how it plans services and manages local risks. Residents can contact the service for enquiries; emergencies should be reported by calling 999
