Asociación Española de Esgrima Antigua

The Asociación Española de Esgrima Antigua (AEEA) is dedicated to the revival and education of Historical Fencing, an ancient martial art that emphasizes the mastery of swordplay as both an art and a science. With a robust foundation rooted in the principles of 'Verdadera Destreza'—a system developed in the 16th century by Jerónimo Sánchez de Carranza—the AEEA bridges the historical practices of swordsmanship with modern training techniques, ensuring safety and efficiency.

The association offers structured courses that explore both the theoretical aspects of sword fighting, including geometry and spatial definitions, and practical applications, using replicas of historical weapons. Participants embark on a dual journey: honing their martial skills while also gaining insight into the rich history of swordplay and its practitioners. Whether for exercise, personal growth, or simply the joy of learning, the AEEA welcomes individuals of all backgrounds to experience the discipline, camaraderie, and excitement that Historical Fencing provides.
