The Ecological Society of Japan is a professional association founded in 1953 to advance research in ecology and related fields. With approximately 4,200 members, including researchers, students, and people working in related professions, it supports the development and exchange of ecological knowledge and encourages its application for public benefit. The society organizes academic conferences, courses, and forums, and publishes the Japanese Journal of Ecology, Ecological Research, Conservation Ecology Research, newsletters, and books. It also provides information and resources for members, including membership services and ecological education support.
