About ESKA
The English Shotokan Karate Association (ESKA) is one of the longest-running karate associations in the UK, founded in 1979 by a group of passionate martial artists. Committed to preserving the traditional teachings of Shotokan karate as established by Funakoshi, ESKA operates numerous clubs across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Essex, with its headquarters located in Stevenage.
ESKA provides a welcoming environment where practitioners of all levels can learn and refine their skills at their own pace. The association promotes karate not only as a martial art but as a means to improve physical fitness, mental well-being, and self-confidence. Beyond training, ESKA hosts various social events and encourages community participation.
With over 40 years of experience and a strong network of over 148 black belts, ESKA invites newcomers to discover the benefits of karate through structured classes, expert coaching, and a supportive atmosphere. Join ESKA today to embark on your karate journey and enhance your body and mind through this ancient practice.
