Esmay Usmany

Esmay Usmany is a Dutch artist, writer, singer, musician, theatre-maker and wedding celebrant whose work centers on the power of language and storytelling. Across the stage, the page, the microphone and wedding ceremonies, she creates words and experiences intended to connect people, spark recognition and bring them closer together. Her services include performances, writing, music and bespoke creative work, as well as conducting wedding ceremonies as a celebrant and singing wedding officiant.

She is also available as a ceremonial speaker. Usmany is the City Poet of Gorinchem, a role through which she aims to bring poetry into everyday life and make it accessible in places such as schools, theatres, public spaces and community events. Her work responds to moments of celebration, remembrance and ordinary daily life.

She is also preparing a children’s book for thoughtful young readers who ask big questions and seek to understand the world, belonging, loss and letting go. For bookings, commissioned work or enquiries, Esmay Usmany can be contacted directly
