ESBD

The eSport-Bund Deutschland e. V. (ESBD) serves as the central hub for organized eSports in Germany, promoting the development and recognition of eSports in society and politics.

Established in 2017 by 22 pioneering teams and organizations, the ESBD advocates for legal acknowledgment of eSports clubs as non-profit entities while fostering nationwide structures and formats for industry dialogue. ESBD's mission includes connecting stakeholders to enhance the eSports ecosystem, representing over 120 organizations across a spectrum of recreational, competitive, and event management sectors. They provide educational opportunities through an academy focused on training eSports coaches, including a C license program that emphasizes skill development.

Through its various departments—recreational sports, competitive sports, and event organizing—the ESBD is committed to improving quality standards and ensuring fair competition. Furthermore, regional associations work closely with the central body to address local eSports issues. With a dedicated team focused on future growth, the ESBD is poised to shape the landscape of eSports in Germany
