Essento Labs is a software company applying artificial intelligence to analytical science, with a focus on chromatography. Its flagship platform, Chromatonic™, is a virtual HPLC laboratory that helps scientists develop, simulate, optimise and troubleshoot methods digitally before running experiments in a physical lab. The platform can generate methods from molecular structures and analytical requirements, predict retention behaviour, recommend columns using Tanaka-characterised data, and model separations. Users can explore mobile phases, buffers, pH, gradients, flow rates, column geometry and temperature, as well as compare and archive method iterations in a shared digital workspace.

Chromatonic also retrieves information from pharmacopeial monographs, including USP and EP materials, and provides guidance for impurity analysis and method validation. Its AI assistant supports investigation of issues such as peak shape, resolution and pressure anomalies. Method transfer between HPLC and UHPLC systems is another capability.
