About Essex Family Forum
Essex Family Forum is the Parent Carer Forum for Essex, representing parents and carers of children with additional needs and disabilities. Our goal is to ensure that services in the area meet the needs and improve outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families. We collaborate with local authorities, health commissioning bodies, and social care to influence and inform the provision and services used by our community.
Co-production is at the heart of our approach, where parent carers have an equal role in decision-making and actively shape, develop, implement, and evaluate services and systems. As part of the National Network of Parent Carer Forums and the Eastern Region Regional Parent Carer Forum, our views and contributions extend beyond Essex, influencing regional and national discussions on SEND.
