ESSKA

The European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA) is a professional society focused on advancing knowledge and education in sports traumatology, knee surgery and arthroscopy. It brings together members and affiliated, partner and collaborating societies through a network of sections, committees and initiatives. ESSKA’s six sections cover arthroplasty and degenerative knee conditions, foot and ankle, hip, shoulder, sports knee and sports medicine.

The society supports professional learning through the ESSKA Academy, an online peer-reviewed educational platform, and offers specialised online education, including free webinars. Its activities also include courses, fellowships, mentorships, observerships, certification and educational events. The ESSKA Congress, usually held every two years, is a major pan-European meeting, alongside focus meetings and other events.

ESSKA publishes and supports professional resources, including KSSTA, its official clinical journal, and JEO, its official open-access journal, as well as books, a newsletter and a library. The society also runs consensus projects, surveys and the Women in ESSKA network, and provides membership services, updates and opportunities to participate in its work.
