Estancia Tanamá is a Puerto Rico-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Dr. Ana V. Caceres Agosto to rescue and rehabilitate abandoned animals.

Its long-term goal is to build the island’s first comprehensive animal rescue and rehabilitation center, providing shelter, veterinary care, recovery, rehoming, and permanent sanctuary for animals in need. While the facility is being developed, the organization is already rescuing animals from the streets, arranging medical care, and helping them move toward safety. Its work also includes funding trap-neuter-return programs and supporting efforts to establish shelter space for street dogs and cats.

Estancia Tanamá invites the public to support its mission through donations, volunteering, fostering, and signing a petition advocating for a regional animal rescue and veterinary care center at the former Roosevelt Roads Naval Station in Ceiba. The organization shares updates about rescues, recoveries, partnerships, and site development, and provides information about Puerto Rico’s animal welfare crisis and available rescue resources. Its efforts aim to create more opportunities for abandoned animals to heal, find homes, and receive lasting protection
