Estavela, formally ZO ČSS 7-09, is a local organization of the Czech Speleological Society that brings together people interested in exploring caves and other underground spaces. Its activities focus mainly on karst research in the Javoříčko Karst, especially the Javoříčko Caves in central Moravia. The group also investigates pseudokarst around the Svitavy region and historic underground sites, including mine workings and passages associated with Olomouc’s former fortress and Svojanov Castle.
Estavela documents cave systems and research, shares specialist articles and updates, and publishes information about current explorations and discoveries. Its website also features a 3D model of the Javoříčko Caves and profiles of locations where members work. In cooperation with the Czech Cave Administration, the Czech Bat Conservation Society and the Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic, members help monitor bats in the Javoříčko area. This work supports assessment of species, population trends and conservation measures. Estavela welcomes people interested in joining its caving and research activities and provides contact information online.
