The Encyclopedia of Modern Ukraine is a scholarly reference project documenting the people, history, culture, institutions, and public life of contemporary Ukraine. Founded by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Shevchenko Scientific Society, it is published by the Institute of Encyclopedic Research of the National Academy of Sciences. Leading Ukrainian scholars contribute to the work, which brings authoritative research to a broad readership.
Its online edition offers more than 83,000 articles, with entries on subjects ranging from historical figures and localities to language, politics, science, and cultural heritage. Readers can explore content through alphabetical listings, subject sections, advanced search, photo galleries, author profiles, and a biographical calendar highlighting events and people associated with each day. The website also features selected articles, news, and links to related scholarly resources.
The encyclopedia is also published in print: 24 volumes covering entries from A through O had appeared by 2022, with work continuing.
