Etape Caledonia is the UK’s original closed-road cycling sportive, welcoming thousands of riders to Highland Perthshire since 2007. The event returns to the idyllic village of Pitlochry on 9 May 2027 for its 20th edition, offering cyclists the chance to experience the Scottish Highlands on fully closed roads. Participants can choose from three loop routes, each starting and finishing in Pitlochry: 40 miles with 860 metres of climbing, 55 miles with 1,166 metres, or 85 miles with 1,555 metres.
The courses feature Highland scenery, including tree-lined roads and lochside stretches, with the longer routes adding more major climbs and a greater endurance challenge. Feed stations are available along the way. The event welcomes a range of abilities, from riders building confidence to experienced cyclists seeking a demanding ride or a personal best.
Riders can also join Team Cancer Research UK by securing a charity place for £30 and pledging to raise £500 for the organisation’s research. Additional event information includes route details, bike hire and transport from London
