Eteläpohjalaiset Juuret

Eteläpohjalaiset Juuret is a Finnish genealogical and local-history association dedicated to researching, preserving, and publishing the family, general, settlement, and regional history of historic South Ostrobothnia. Its work covers communities including Ilmajoki, Isokyrö, Lapua, Seinäjoki, Kauhava, Kurikka, and Vöyri. Founded as a committee in 1999 and formally registered in 2007, the association serves people interested in the region’s heritage and family histories.

Its main publication, Eteläpohjalaiset Juuret, is issued four times a year and focuses especially on genealogy from the 1500s through the 1700s. Members receive the publication by post. The association also produces parish-specific local-history books, historical yearbooks, other specialist publications, and settlement maps, available through its online shop. Website resources include digitized parish registers for Isokyrö and Ylistaro, name indexes, lists for genealogists, research guidance, and a search tool for articles.
